Patient Questions

 
  • Dr. Huynh’s primary office is located at 2525 Old Bronte Rd -Suite 580 Oakville, Ontario. Occasionally, your appointment may take place at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, either in the Diabetes Centre (Monday Mornings) or Outpatient Clinic (Monday Afternoons).

  • Please ensure you have a current list of medications with you. If you are followed for diabetes, please have your blood sugar records - either an updated log book or upload your readings from your Freestyle or Dexcom device.

  • Please get blood work done one week before your appointment. In special situations, blood work or urine testing may be required 3-4 weeks in advance.

  • If you require a renewal of your medication(s), please speak to Dr. Huynh at the time of your appointment. Aside from special situations, Dr. Huynh does not refill phone or fax prescriptions from your pharmacy. In this case, please speak to your family doctor.

  • Through Medeo Health, the office is able to create a direct and secure line of communication with patients. This service is free.

    Once connected, you will be able to send and receive files such as lab requisitions, insurance forms, blood sugar readings and blood pressure readings. The office also sends appointment notifications through Medeo Health.

    All of this can be done from your phone via the Medeo Health App or your home computer. The office requires a valid email address to send you a link to register for the program.

  • An endocrinology fellow is a doctor who is completing extra training (2 years) in Diabetes and Endocrinology. They have already completed 3 years of Internal Medicine training after medical school. They work alongside Dr. Huynh to gain more experience with patients.

  • No, Dr. Huynh only sees patients 18 years of age or older.

  • If you think Dr. Huynh would be a good fit to assess your diabetes or endocrine issue, please speak to your family physician first. A referral is required.

Physician Questions

 
  • Dr. Huynh does not see patients for osteoporosis, bone or calcium disorders. She does not prescribe post menopausal hormone replacement therapy. She does not prescribe or manage patients on dessicated thyroid hormone or Cytomel.

  • For non-urgent assessments, appointments are booked within 4-6 months. Dr. Huynh does her best to see urgent referrals as quickly as possible.

  • Referrals with missing or incomplete information will be sent back. A referral form has been created to ensure referrals can be triaged appropriately.
